Help us raise $5,555 for Max's 5th birthday
In celebration of Max turning five years old, we want to raise $5,555 for Cure SMA, a leading organization in SMA research, support for families affected by SMA, and in developing new treatments leading to a cure! Will you join us by donating $5, $55, or $555 in Max's honor?
SMA is a devastating genetic disease that destroys the nerves that control voluntary movement. Children born with SMA may never crawl, walk, or even lift their head. Families who live with SMA turn to Cure SMA for information, guidance, encouragement and most importantly, HOPE.
Cure SMA has been there for Max and our family since the first day we got Max's diagnosis:
+ On the day our world was turned upside down by Max's diagnosis, Cure SMA's website helped us to understand spinal muscular atrophy and gave us hope by showing us other families who lived and thrived in spite of this disease.
+ Several days later we received a huge care package from Cure SMA with toys Max was able to lift and play with, as well as special blankets, a special bathing pillow (which was just perfect for Max), even a red wagon!
+ When we needed special equipment, Cure SMA has been there to provide us with a car bed, a bath chair, and other items.
+ Through all this, Cure SMA has been funding the research which we all hope and believe will lead to better treatments and a cure for SMA within Max's lifetime.
